Funny things you will see me do...

when suffering from endometrial nodule pain :)

*Bend over with my head almost on the ground to cough, blow my nose, sneeze, etc. I don't know why, but I'm convinced this helps the pain. Scotty thinks it's hilarious.

*Wear my pants BELOW my c-section scar. This is also why I tend to stick around the house during this time of the month :)

*Wander aimlessly trying to remember what I was going to do...I have trouble sitting still, it's ridiculous.

*Get up and down like a pregnant lady. I seriously lower myself while bending as little as possible. Same with getting up. Again, Scotty thinks this looks pretty ridiculous.

*I eat...a lot. You know the whole comfort food thing? I inhale chocolate...then I weigh myself because I like to make myself cry.

*Drink lots of coffee and tea. Again, the comfort thing.

*Whine. A lot. And then I explain "it doesn't hurt THAT bad...it just really hurts". You know, I make a lot of sense :)

The best part? I'm training this little boy to be awesome when he meets his future female friends and they are feeling crummy during that time of the month. He helps me out quite a bit, reminds me what I was doing when I stand in the middle of the kitchen muttering to myself...the best? He helps me find the heating pad. I may scar him for life, but I'm leaning towards I'm helping out my future daughter in law :)

Change up my layout? Or no?

Alright, I've rearranged two (three if you count Scotty's bedroom with the whole adding a chair thing) rooms today. I now feel the need to change my blog layout/design, whatever you want to call it. I don't know what I'd do though. I also need to update to the newest wordpress thingy...that message has been there for a while!

What do you think? Change the blog or leave it alone and go fold the darn laundry?

So...I've been avoiding the blog. I KNOW I need to post something, but I don't really have anything to post. I'm too lazy to go through and post pics because it's a bit of a pain. I'm exhausted from the holidays. And I'm stressing out about my appointment next week regarding the endometrial lump. I had myself half convinced I could just live with the pain because I'm terrified of surgery. Then Aunt Flo arrived and I can barely move today. Okay, I can move, but it hurts. Really bad. And I need to get out to run errands today. In the snow. It should be interesting. And I'm rambling because I'm tired and stressed. So...Happy New Year! I'm going to go and finish my coffee and try to stop being a thundercloud...I will definitely be back to update next week after my appointment with the OB. Hopefully I'll have good news! Until then, I think I'm going to continue my blog break unless I feel like I have something to share...I need to snap out of this funk!

Vacation Time!

Scotty and I will be leaving today for our family cabin on Lopez Island...so excited! FIRST I have to go to my sisters baby shower, then the drive to the ferry begins. 2 hours in the car with a 3 year old should be interesting...at least we'll have the 45 minute ferry ride to break it up a bit! THEN we can go straight down to the beach after unloading the car! I won't have reliable internet, so I MAY be absent until we get back sometime on Wednesday. OR I could get lucky and figure out how to use the wi-fi connection in town!

Either way, I'll be enjoying campfires, hot cocoa and s'mores and views like this:

Looking at pictures like this almost make the wait worth it!

Opinions Please!

So...I won a Vtech Reader a few weeks ago over at 3 Kids and Us. It arrived last week and Scotty LOVES it. I started playing with it and I love it too...Now I want my own reader!

So my question is...can anyone recommend one? I added up my pile of gift cards and I should have enough to go and get one. I was looking at the Nook offered at Barnes and Noble. My concern with that is the news that Barnes and Noble is up for sale. If I buy a Nook and bad things happen to Barnes & Noble, will I no longer be able to get support for my nifty reader?

Another option is the Kindle...I just know nothing about any of the readers out there. I want to be able to go and touch one and fiddle around with it before I shell out that much money (or in my case, giftcards). And can you use multiple giftcards at Amazon? I know B&N will take as many as I hand them.

Then there are the many other options out there...I saw a Sony reader and something else...my eyes started to glaze over a bit. I told the hubby he needed to research them a bit. He's the tech-nerd in this house, so he'll know what all the terms mean.

However, I would LOVE some opinions if anyone has a reader and can give me some pros and cons. I am so excited for a new toy AND to finally spend these giftcards that I'm pretty sure moved with us almost 2 years ago!

and MAY be due to exactly where I'm at in my cycle...but I'm a mess today. The past few days I've felt incredibly overwhelmed by my blog and blogging. I keep trying to find the best way to manage things, so far haven't found my system!

I wake up at 6 am to give myself 2 hours to catch up on what I didn't finish reading the night before OR anything new, enter giveaways, moderate comments, etc.

My new rule? The computer is turned off at 8 am so I'm not neglecting the 3 year old. He gets really noisy (and naughty) when I don't pay attention. Yesterday? I turned my head for about two minutes and he decided to go sit in his carseat by the front door and poo in his undies. Nice. Now, I'm cheap and all...but I wasn't going to scoop poo out of undies that were getting small anyways, so I just tossed those babies in the garbage.

Anyhoo, my day on the computer goes something like this:

6-8 am: enter giveaways, catch up reading blogs, catchup on moderating comments and reading/returning e-mails (blog & personal).

8-2: no computer!

2-4: Kiddo is in quiet time, so I get to do whatever. Today I started the rule, no entering giveaways during this time. Read whatever new posts there are, comment where I can ( have a hard time with this, I can't always think of something to say!) and do things like balancing the checkbook, paying bills, etc.

4-8: no computer again!

8-10: Last minute computer time for me, do whatever I haven't gotten done, read posts so my reader is fresh for the morning.

That looks pretty ridiculous right? You'd think I'd be able to accomplish more during the day. The first day I did. I cleaned the house, went through closets, boxed stuff up and rearranged every room possible in our house. I need some structure to my day...and something to lessen the overwhelmed feeling! I think I'll feel better in a week or so, but in the meantime? This sucks.

Any suggestions on keeping on top of your blog without going nuts? I follow so many that the number in my reader jumps another 20 by the time I'm done reading the first 20!

Ha ha ha, this one made me giggle

I copied this from Delightful Chaos, had to share it because you can always use a good laugh! And I'll even admit, I'm an idiot and totally tried #1 before reading #2 and then laughed at myself while reading the rest.

One of my good friends sent me this tonight. I needed the laugh and had to pass it on.

1. You cannot stick your tongue out and look up at the ceiling at the same time. (TRY IT!)

2.  All idiots, after reading #1 will try it.

3.  And discover #1 is a lie.

4. You are smiling now because you are an idiot.

5.  You soon will forward this to another idiot.

6.  There is still a stupid smile on your face.

I apologize about this but I’m an idiot and I needed company.

You now have 2 options…delete it or send it along to put a smile on some other idiot’s face today.

Help! I need some direction...

I'd LOVE to do some reviews and giveaways...I'm wondering where to start though?

I have a few things on my to-do list for my blog before I'm ready, but I'm a planner. I thought I'd get some suggestions/advice from some of you ladies that know what you're doing!

So...any advice on where to start, how to do it, what not to do, etc. would be much appreciated!
