Alright, I'll start with a few pictures and then do a post on where the heck I've been since January!
Scotty and I went to the Oregon coast with all my sisters for my birthday:
We've also been spending a LOT of time with Ila, I've been picking up extra days on top of the 2 a week I have her:
AND someone is turning 5 on Friday! We had his birthday party last weekend due to a funeral I'm attending this weekend.

I'm not happy with my current theme/layout. I have no idea where to look to find one I love. The hubby suggested the wordpress site, so I'll look there. In the past that's what I've done and I've always just settled. I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of some awesome themes for wordpress blogs that are free. Any help would be much appreciated!
So...things have been a bit stressful around our house for a while. Which is why I haven't been on here as much...it's hard to put on the happy face when I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off and I can't focus for more than 10 minutes at a time! Luckily, we seem to be on the right track and our finances are no longer stressing us out (as much) and we're moving forward with some big decisions!
First big change? I'm working! Okay, not really working working. My little sister got a new job and starts today...so Scotty and I took over her two days a week watching Ila. So far it's going great! And the extra money will definitely help pay some bills AND Scotty and I are being forced to have a real schedule. Hopefully we can get a schedule that works well for us AND Ila. Scotty is having a little difficulty with the whole "sharing" thing. Ila is only 10 months old...she just grabs things. So does Scotty, and he's four!
Other big changes...we're slowly purging our house. I know, when are we not? I'm always cleaning/organizing and getting rid of things. We're trying to make our house work for us. Which means getting rid of stuff. When you move into a house that is half the size of your old house, you have to get rid of a TON. We thought we had. Unfortunately we still have a bit to go. We're also talking a lot about furniture and projects for the house. Next step is to talk to the landlord and see what kind of down payment he wants and what price he's looking for if we buy the house next summer. Hopefully we can come to an agreement that works for all of us!
Other than that we're just slowly plugging along. But for the first time in almost 4 years, things are looking up for us
Thank god...and if Scott and I have managed to stay together as long as we have while having to deal with as much crap as we have, I don't see us ever splitting up. Seriously, the poor guy lost his job on our wedding day, got into the mortgage business and kicked butt for a few years until the market crashed and went back to Microsoft just long enough to affect his health enough to where he's in a wheelchair. He's been up and exercising and using his walker at least once a day for the last 6 weeks or so and it looks promising...so excited to see what the future holds for us from this point on!
Here are the promised pictures...the weather was beautiful! I got a lot more than I'm sharing, but I doubt you want to see 400 pictures
I just love these two together. Scotty absolutely LOVES when we get to babysit cousin. We went to the mall a week or so ago and he didn't want to go without her, so we went and picked her up and she went and played in the play area with us. Fun!

Okay, ideas is a bit misleading...I really have one idea. I THINK we're going to run with it. I've made my 3 sisters promise to help me since I'm not very artistic and they all kick butt. So here's the plan:
We'll do a small cake with a frog, something like this:

Then we'll do cupcakes that look something like this (I think the first pic is the cutest):

Scotty was adamant he wanted his own cake, hence the separate small cake. I love cupcakes because it's so much easier to do and everyone can grab their own! I will finally be able to open my Wilton cupcake stand I won last year too! So excited...now I just need to get everything done before his birthday without freaking out! I think this week we'll pop over to Michaels to take a look at their bakeware, there's a sale going on!
For those of you experienced with cake decorating, any suggestions? We're even going to attempt to fill the cupcakes with fruit filling of some sort...should be interesting
If I remember, I'm totally going to take pictures and post the before and after pics!
We celebrated yesterday with my dad, today off to my sisters! Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!
The Naked Chef! Okay, not really naked, but half way there. I can't keep pants on this kid, it's ridiculous. Here he is helping make pancakes...now I just need to teach him how to measure and make them while I sleep in

It's been a hectic and busy week! I'm a planner. It's ridiculous how early I start planning. I have had a huge list going in Word for our upcoming cabin trip for over a month. My husband laughs at me. HOWEVER...I don't get up there often and realize I forgot something super important.
This week has been busy with shopping trips (Target and Safeway, skipped Costco this week). Wednesday was a trip to my sisters so she could cut Scotty's hair, another trip to the barber to get Scott's hair cut. Saturday is my nephew's 3rd birthday party, so last week Scotty and I spent a bit of time at Target and picked out gifts for both cousin T and Cousin Syd who is having her party the next weekend. It's been busy!
Thankfully, we're almost at the end of the wait...I will soon be able to answer "YES!" when Scotty asks if we're going to the cabin now? It's a little sad when he races after you when you take the garbage out because he thinks we're leaving...he reminds me of our old dogs! Cody would sit in front of the door and freak out as I packed the car. We NEVER left them behind, just like I will never leave Scotty behind when we go to the cabin! Maybe he'll figure that out, the dogs never did
is a lightly salted plain rice cake with Trader Joe's Peanut Butter and some Triple berry jam. It's absolutely delicious. Who needs bread???
