Since we've been watching Ila the last few months I've noticed Scotty's attitude leaves something to be desired. Last week we were going to go berry picking on Friday and run some errands...and he let us know that wasn't the best plan. Instead of fighting with him over it, we changed our plan to do something fun together. We went swimming. He had a blast, I had fun...it made me think, maybe we should set aside a day each week (Fridays) that we do at least one fun thing together. Watching Ila keeps us busy, it's a little stressful at times because I'm trying to keep up with two of them and Scotty can really push my buttons when he's not getting my attention. So...this is week 2 of "Fun Friday" with Scotty.
The plan: Pick some blackberries in the backyard and have him help me make some freezer jam. Make some cookies (we're completely out!) and POSSIBLY do some painting. Hopefully this helps him and we get our one-on-one time with no distractions!
We went to Scotty's very first fair yesterday...we were there 6 hours! I'd say he liked it

One of my favorite places to visit when it's time to get away from it all is the family cabin on Lopez Island. Unfortunately we are only able to make it up a couple of times a year (which isn’t nearly enough!).
Since finding extra time to get away is all but impossible, I’ve been looking for a way to bring a bit of the cabin to the mainland. What better way that to have a large, high quality picture of the calming, peaceful view from the cabin, strategically placed on the wall above my desk when I need to sit back and take a few minutes of vacation away from the hectic (more like chaotic!) world in which I live?
I had looked at a number of options in the past, but ultimately put my project on the back burner as I hadn’t found an online printing solution I was comfortable trying.
As luck would have it, I was introduced to uprinting.com

I'm so excited to share that I'll be doing my first giveaway this coming week! I have no idea what I'm doing, so bear with me here. It's been a busy few weeks and I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row. So...stay tuned for a giveaway and please enter! And if you have suggestions? Please share!
I'm not happy with my current theme/layout. I have no idea where to look to find one I love. The hubby suggested the wordpress site, so I'll look there. In the past that's what I've done and I've always just settled. I'm hoping someone can point me in the direction of some awesome themes for wordpress blogs that are free. Any help would be much appreciated!
Two kids is a lot of work...but they also adore each other and keep busy!

Do you ever get so busy that you shut down? I thought I'd be used to the busier schedule and watching Ila by now...but so far? Not at all. I keep trying to schedule playdates, keep the house clean and stay on top of all my errands. Not doing so great at all that...then add in blogging? I try to read the blogs I follow, I try to comment...I try to enter giveaways. I start...then find myself on Facebook playing Bubble Speed. I zone out. Before I know it, an hour has passed and I've accomplished nothing.
So...any suggestions from you moms who have it all together? I write things down like crazy, I have lists all over the place...I just lose the motivation to get things done! It doesn't help that I start to think I have it all together and something new gets thrown in there for me to juggle! I thought by now I'd be doing more with this blog...instead I tend to bury my head in the sand. I'd like to get on a schedule and post more, but when I sit down to do it I can't focus or come up with much to write about!
Have you heard of Zaycon Foods yet? If not, follow the link and check them out. I have absolutely loved every single thing I've gotten from them. I've ordered chicken twice now (best chicken ever!) and beef once...I think they look and taste better than anything you can buy in a store. I love that everything is fresher than in the store. You buy in bulk which is handy for me...I have an extra freezer in the garage just for this reason! I like to stock up so I don't need to shop as often
Last year I also picked up some of their apples. I made so much applesauce, we're still eating it! Recently I picked up a bunch of peaches and canned those as well. I plan to snap up even more of their peaches and apples next time they're available! I like stocking up my shelves for the winter when we don't have as much yummy produce available.
I received an email today that their bacon event starts tomorrow...I'm so excited! I haven't tried their bacon yet, but I've heard wonderful things. I'm now trying to find someone to split my order with though...there is no way we'll eat 30 lbs of bacon in a timely manner! Which means hopefully I'll get my sisters or mom turned onto the convenience and deliciousness of Zaycon Foods! So if you haven't checked them out, do so! It's worth the initial effort of picking up the product and processing it yourself...and in my opinion it's healthier than the stuff they have in the stores!
