Yesterday was horrible!

So here's to hoping tomorrw is better. Today started out with a cranky Scotty. Fun! These are usually okay when it's just the 2 of us, he snaps out of it pretty fast. Unfortunately, today we're watching Ila.

cranky Scotty+teething and cranky Ila=super cranky mom needing some chocolate

I've decided I need to create an emergency stash at my sisters house now. Apparently Ila slept very little Tuesday night and kept everyone up. I'm thinking "alright, this should mean she's super tired and will take her naps!". Nope. I forgot how this worked...it means she's going to be a total pill and refuse to take naps. Crap. First nap lasted maybe 45 minutes...she didn't want to eat much. Set her loose to play with Scotty and grabbed her as soon as she started rubbing her eyes. Think she went to sleep? No. She sat in her crib and screamed for about 20 minutes before I caved. I brought her out and shoveled some food in her mouth, let her play for a few and then tried to put her down when I saw some eye rubbing. Again, no sleep, just screaming.

Why do I think we want at least one more baby? Do I REALLY want to deal with this again with my own? Scotty was colicky and made life miserable for all of us for at least the first 6 months...then the battle of the wills started. With my luck, I'm going to get another Scotty. I may need to rethink this.

And to top it all off? Scotty pushed buttons all day. At one point, I took his shirt. He laughed when I told him I was going to start taking things away if he kept pushing. He has so many toys that he didn't care about those, so I took his shirt. Not my best moment, but he got the point and sat still long enough to talk to me.

*Ha! I originally wrote this post planning to publish next day...then decided to just publish it day of. JUST realized I never changed the title. Woops.

This is what I did yesterday...12 jars of Blackberry freezer jam and 19 quart jars of peaches! I am really enjoying canning...will hopefully get back to the blueberry farm and pick a ton so we can experiment with those as well! And in a week or so? I'm ordering more peaches and some pears!

The wedding! We had a BLAST at the wedding...Scotty was actually ready to go as soon as the ceremony was over...then he found the flask my little sis gave me as a bridesmaid gift and thought it was pretty snazzy. I let him play with it, and he was a happy camper and okay with staying for a while :) (It was empty!) After a while cousin Trinity dragged him out on the dancefloor and he had some moves!

I'm way behind...but here's a pic from the bachelorette party! So much fun...and I met Fitz and Tony from 100.7 the Wolf! And I MAY have met "The Biscuit" from the same radio show...but my sister didn't share those pictures, I'm pretty sure I should thank her...I was a little tipsy and he was hanging all over me! Scott is still laughing about it.

*Me and the twins with Fitz!

So...things have been a bit stressful around our house for a while. Which is why I haven't been on here as much...it's hard to put on the happy face when I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off and I can't focus for more than 10 minutes at a time! Luckily, we seem to be on the right track and our finances are no longer stressing us out (as much) and we're moving forward with some big decisions!

First big change? I'm working! Okay, not really working working. My little sister got a new job and starts today...so Scotty and I took over her two days a week watching Ila. So far it's going great! And the extra money will definitely help pay some bills AND Scotty and I are being forced to have a real schedule. Hopefully we can get a schedule that works well for us AND Ila. Scotty is having a little difficulty with the whole "sharing" thing. Ila is only 10 months old...she just grabs things. So does Scotty, and he's four!

Other big changes...we're slowly purging our house. I know, when are we not? I'm always cleaning/organizing and getting rid of things. We're trying to make our house work for us. Which means getting rid of stuff. When you move into a house that is half the size of your old house, you have to get rid of a TON. We thought we had. Unfortunately we still have a bit to go. We're also talking a lot about furniture and projects for the house. Next step is to talk to the landlord and see what kind of down payment he wants and what price he's looking for if we buy the house next summer. Hopefully we can come to an agreement that works for all of us!

Other than that we're just slowly plugging along. But for the first time in almost 4 years, things are looking up for us :) Thank god...and if Scott and I have managed to stay together as long as we have while having to deal with as much crap as we have, I don't see us ever splitting up. Seriously, the poor guy lost his job on our wedding day, got into the mortgage business and kicked butt for a few years until the market crashed and went back to Microsoft just long enough to affect his health enough to where he's in a wheelchair. He's been up and exercising and using his walker at least once a day for the last 6 weeks or so and it looks promising...so excited to see what the future holds for us from this point on!
