It definitely does not look like spring outside here in Washington! We had a couple of days of sunny and warm, now we're back to the gray and gloomy. Bummer. We have gone about 2 weeks with the heat turned off though, so it's obviously not AS cold as it was. I'm hoping the rain goes away for a bit this week so I can get out and mow. Before the grass goes past my knees.
I'm sitting here enjoying my coffee and reading my blogs, the boys are in bed...then I realized I have laundry to fold, need to clean the house a bit before our playdate AND I should really force myself to sit down and write a letter to my future brother in law. Today is his birthday. And he's in Iraq. I was supposed to mail out his birthday gift a while ago. I bought all his goodies weeks ago, then realized it wouldn't make it there in time. So? It's still sitting on my counter. With the busy week or two we've had, I've only made it to the PO to pickup a box and customs form. The goal for today? Find a few minutes to write a letter, make the kiddo color a picture for Uncle Matty and get that baby ready to go for tomorrow morning!
Other fun things going on today? BBQ! Great weather for it, huh? Pouring down rain and gray. Oh well. We'll open up the garage and sit in there to stay dry while the hubby is out in the rain BBQ. As he likes to tell me on a regular basis, he's Icelandic and doesn't get cold!
I'm a little rambly, only on my first cup of coffee so far. Not much else to say, so I think I'll go pour myself cup #2!
Enjoy a lazy sunday for me if you can!
Head over here to enter for a chance to win an iPad!
I'd say good luck, but I'm really hoping I win this one!
The kiddo and I are waiting on the hubby, then we're off to the SIL's for a mini family reunion! Some relatives from Iceland got in a day or two ago and we get to go and meet them! It should be fun, Scott's family is a blast. Scotty is excited to see the cousins and I'm excited to get out of the house for a bit!
Tomorrow one of my friends is coming over with her little boy...we grew up together and her little boy is about a year older than Scotty. The same age difference between me and Tina! It should be an interesting day, it's been pretty gross out lately and two little boys inside is going to be LOUD!
After Tina and Ty leave, Scott's dad and brother are coming over for a BBQ. It's always fun when my father in law comes over, he's a hoot! Scotty shows off and is quite the ham. To be honest, he's quite the ham anytime in front of a crowd! Just like his dad
Thank goodness he didn't get my social anxiety!
I might be absent this weekend, but probably not. I've been told I have a problem when it comes to my computer. I setup a reminder for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the request of my husband. After he asked me to do this, I thought about it and realized it was a good idea. Scotty had asked me three times for a cup of cocoa before I pulled myself away from the computer. Oops. It's addicting when I'm learning how to do new things and finding so many neat blogs! I wish I was half as creative as some of the people I follow!
Alright, I'm off for a few hours at least. Hopefully the sun will still be out when we get home, maybe I can get a little bit of pruning done! It's too wet to mow yet...
Head over to Leslie Loves Veggies for a chance to win a Thai Cotton Tote Bag from Asia Rustic!
Good luck!
Yay! I'm so excited to try this stuff...see the original Giveaway post here.
I LOVE coconut, so it'll be fun to try some new recipes with this stuff!
Head over to Crystal Clear Savings to see her current Giveaways...check out my post from last week, I also won her Shrek-tacular Savings giveaway...I'm on a winning streak, apparently!
A big thanks to Crystal...what a great way to start the weekend!
I won THIS! I am so excited...I picked My Birthday Wish and I'm hoping it gets here in time for Scotty's birthday at the end of next month. I absolutely love this blog, so check it out. She gives great reviews and has some awesome giveaways!
And if you want to tool around the website and look at the neat books available, go to My Fairy Tale Books.
And a big thanks to Leslie! Scotty is going to love this, especially since it's personalized and about him!
I would LOVE to win the Makin' Mud Pies toy at Two of a Kind Working on a Full House. We absolutely LOVE Little Tikes. And now that Scotty is over the whole hating to get dirty issue, he LOVES playing in the dirt. I've been looking at this for a birthday gift, so I really hope I win!
Is it just me? Or does everyone break up their errands into multiple days? I just can't manage to get more than 2 or 3 done in one day. Part of that is because I usually have a restless almost 3 year old with me. Part of it is because I get antsy and frustrated when it's too crowded. Seriously, I do not belong in the city.
I feel like I've gone shopping every day this week! And I haven't...I think we had ONE pajama day. And I still didn't get my housework done. So today? I have to do a ton of housework because my husband's co-worker is coming over tonight. This weekend we're having friends on Sunday morning, family in the afternoon...and we'll be gone most of Saturday at another family BBQ with relatives from Iceland that are visiting.
I feel like I'm falling behind and getting very little done. But? I've learned quite a few things on the whole blogging adventure! Today I'm going to brainstorm names for a blog for just the family. That way I don't have to keep posting pictures here, I can keep this blog just for me. Here's to hoping I get a ton crossed off my list!
I'm putting myself on computer restriction for a few hours now...hopefully it's a slow day in the cyber world!
I'm off to start checking the following off the list (and note how I break down certain chores just so I can cross things off quicker, ha ha ha)
*Wash laundry
*Fold laundry & put away
*Vacuum front room
*Vacuum kitchen & entry
*Vacuum dining
*Scrub kitchen counters
*Scrub bathrooms (I hate doing this...my little guy has learned to pee standing up...messy!)
*Library trip
*POSSIBLY fit in a trip to pickup paperwork from a client for the hubby
I'm sure there will be more added as the day goes on...I'm already tired. I think it's an Elvis type of day...Elvis always gets you moving and things get done quicker! And if the sun comes out? Outside play and some more pruning!
