On Sunday we went to Remlinger Farm and their pumpkin patch with the twins, Cort, Burke and his parents, and Trinity and her dad. It was a blast! Scotty had so much fun on the tractor in the pumpkin patch and looking at all the pumpkins. We didn’t bring a pumpkin home, he couldn’t make up his mind and I randomly grabbed one and then we saw the prices. $6 for a pretty small pumpkin that they call “medium”. So Trinity was the only one that got a pumpkin, Scotty and I are headed to Fred Meyer this week to grab a random one. Maybe.
After the pumpkin patch, we went to the Harvest Festival. I lived in Duvall for almost 6 years and I’d never been to Remlinger Farms! It was so much fun, they have all kinds of rides and things in there. Scotty didn’t want to leave he had so much fun. We rode the train, drove some cars, went in some spinning barrels (essentially, the teacup ride at Enchanted Village and Disney Land) and played for a long time in the hay maze! AND I got a few pictures
Enjoy!

Yesterday Scotty and I went over to Auntie Dana’s to pickup the carpet shampooer. We walked in the door…and she was playing drums. It took Scotty a minute or two to warm up, but then he wanted to play. And Auntie let him! He had so much fun and didn’t want help. He kept hitting our hands with the drum sticks when we tried to help him. It hurt! We got some pictures and they’re pretty great! Scotty doesn’t get his musical talent from me, I have no rhythm and I’m tone deaf. BUT…lucky for him, Dad plays guitar, his biological grandpa played drums, Great Grandma Mary was in the choir at her church. I think there’s a bit more musical talent, but I can’t remember.

***Update: Dana corrected me, both Dana and Ec were in choir. And Dana played clarinet for a little while...So he gets a little bit from our side too
Some pictures AND video. It took my computer almost a whole day to pull all the video off the camera…I guess I need to do it more often! Not many new pictures though. My camera is a little too slow to catch Scotty, so I don’t often bother with it.
***Check back later for video AND pictures of Scott and Scotty…I promised Scott I’d let him upload the video and pictures to his Facebook first. It’s worth the wait though!
*One of the doors on our entertainment center got broken off during the move. We haven’t bothered to put it back because Scotty likes to crawl in there and hide (and pretend he’s sleeping!)
AND…some video:
Fall is finally here! We love it. Just this morning I pulled out my last box of sweaters/scarves/long underwear and put them away. This means I ALSO re-organized our closets and dressers. I have a lot more cold weather clothes than warm weather. I’m not a fan of the warm weather, as you know if you know me at all! I don’t like to tan and I can never cool off. Then the cold weather comes…and I can’t get warm. I still love it. We’ve been having fires lately and drinking hot chocolate. Scott even brought up getting another 1/2 cord of wood since we are starting with 1/2 cord and going through it quickly. He and Scotty can go around in t-shirts and regular pants and be fine. I layer in sweaters, Scott’s hunting socks and long underwear. It’s worth it though. I’m feeling the holiday spirit and am already doing my Christmas shopping.
Tomorrow is Scott’s last day at Microsoft, then he has to take his 100-days off. We’ve got great plans for tomorrow and Thursday…be lazy! Chicken Pot Pie for supper, spend some family time and sleep in on Thursday and have cinnamon rolls for breakfast! Scott is really excited to get to work on the mortgage side of things full-time. It sounds like there is quite a bit of business coming in just from the part-time advertising we’ve been doing. Hopefully with him dedicating himself full-time, he won’t have to go back to MS! If he does, it sounds like there are quite a few opportunities for testers (what he’s doing now) as well as project management (he’s going to be studying and getting his certification for that in the beginning of his time off). Unfortunately? We’re on a tight budget for a bit. On the bright side, we’re pretty cheap anyways so it won’t be so bad. Scotty and I did one last BIG Costco run yesterday. We should be good until we run out of milk. I love Costco now. I only do little shopping at the grocery store these days.
Scotty is still growing like a weed. He’s getting excited for Halloween too. We haven’t bought a costume yet, but he loves looking at the Halloween decorations at Fred Meyer whenever we go. I can’t wait till Christmas, he’s going to love it! And I don’t have a specific way to do all the decorations like I did at the old house, so Scotty can help me this year and we’ll figure it out as we go. We’ve already rearranged furniture in the front room a few times and I *think* we’ve figured out how we’ll do it when we have the tree. We’re doing the fake tree this year, so we’ll have it up the day after Thanksgiving! Same with the outside lights. So excited!
We’ve been trying really hard to go to more playdates lately too. Thankfully Scotty plays really well with Thomas and Brennan, my old co-workers two little boys (3 & 1 yrs). We’ve been going over to their house in Snohomish and he has a blast. We’re heading over again tomorrow and we’re making cookies today so we can share! We also checked out the Kid’s Cove at Bellevue Square (finally!). I like it, but I need to dress Scotty in neon colors next time. It’s pretty well enclosed and I sat by the only exit (without climbing over the back of the benches, that is) so he couldn’t leave without me seeing him. He had an absolute blast, but there were so many kids and he wasn’t really watching where he was going and had a few collisions. Overall, I’d go again, but leaving wasn’t very fun. It never is with this kid!
Not much else going on, will try to be better about updating and getting pictures up though. I need to take more pictures too! We have a trip to the pumpkin patch planned at the end of the month with Leah, her niece Trinity and possibly Scotty’s favorite kid EVER, Burke. I’ll remember my camera and get lots of pictures of that!
That’s me! It’s been a little busy around here, but more lazy than anything else. What’s been happening…well, Scotty is definitely 2 now and has some serious attitude. On the other hand, he’s picking things up like crazy (some things I wish he wouldn’t!) and is growing like a weed. We went to the doctor for me today and the nurse I saw when pregnant was shocked at how big he was and nobody could believe he was only 2! He’s talking really well and is Mr. Independent. We’ve been working on letters and the alphabet. He won’t SING his alphabet, but can identify most letters. He can count to 12 on his own, up to 20 by himself if you don’t mind him missing 14,15 , 17, and 19.
Last weekend was Salmon Days…and I forgot my camera. I know, I suck. Not one picture, but we didn’t really go downtown much. Dana and I went after Mom got to town and we left Scotty with her. Dana and I walked all the way down to the hatchery and then cut back BEHIND the booths ready to hit all the rude people. We don’t do well in crowds. We didn’t want to stand in line for elephant ears (the only thing I wanted) so we wandered between Leah’s, Linda’s and Grams and grazed. Scotty went home with Mom and had a slumber party, Alana (Ron’s granddaughter) was there too, so he had a blast.
Scott is down to 6 more days at Microsoft! We’ve been planning for his 100 days off, so we’re definitely looking forward to him being home and able to take care of himself a bit better and get back in shape. Hopefully with the ability to dedicate himself full-time to the mortgage stuff he won’t have to go back to MS after the 100 days! It’ll be an adjustment, but we’re looking forward to it!
Scotty and I have been trying to go to more playdates lately too. We’ve been pretty bad, but we have a playdate scheduled for the rest of this week and a few next week. Should be a fun time! I just hope none of us get sick anytime soon.
And I think that’s about it…I’ll leave you with some pictures and then I’m off to check “update blog” off my to-do list and keep going on it!
